Bio
Born and raised in Milan, Tennessee, Mark became interested in criminal law after reading a newspaper article in high school about the death penalty. Upon graduating, Mark moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee and earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science in 2007. After taking a few years off to work and travel, Mark received his law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2012, with a certificate of concentration in criminal law. While in law school, Mark served as a legal research and writing teaching assistant, interned at the Toledo Municipal Prosecutor's Office and completed student clerkships with the Honorable Judge James R. Knepp II at the U.S. District Court in Toledo and the Honorable Judge Thomas W. Phillips at the U.S. District Court in Knoxville.
Following law school, Mark came back to Tennessee and started his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney for the 28th Judicial District, covering Gibson, Crockett and Haywood Counties. Over the next four years, Mark prosecuted hundreds of cases from low level misdemeanors to first-degree murders and gained valuable trial experience. In addition, Mark taught in-services to law enforcement agencies and was the District Attorney's representative to the Carl Perkins Child Advocacy Center and the Gibson and Crockett County recovery courts.
In 2017, Mark decided to return to Knoxville and opened his own law practice representing individuals charged in criminal matters in Blount and Knox Counties. As a criminal defense attorney, Mark has leveraged the experience he gained as a prosecutor to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients. In addition to his knowledge of the law, Mark has a deep understanding of the prosecutorial process and the motivations behind it. As a result, Mark brings a unique perspective to each case he defends by continually evaluating them as both a defense attorney and a prosecutor. Through this process, Mark is constantly assessing the strengths and weaknesses of a case from both points of view to determine how best to help his clients.
Mark approaches every case with a focus on the tenants of the Bosch Law Firm; aggressive, effective, and discreet representation. To Mark, this means fighting to achieve his client's goals while helping them move forward with as little disruption to their life as possible through the use of client centered and holistic representation. Mark achieves all of this while simultaneously providing compassion and understanding, no matter the situation.
Mark is a member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the Knoxville Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. When not fighting for his clients, Mark enjoys being outside with his wife Stephanie either cycling or hiking in the mountains. Mark also builds and restores furniture and officiates high school football for the TSSAA.
